Camo In Public!

You know you're addicted when you take your crochet project to a piano recital. A camouflage yarn crochet project. To your own daughters recital.

My darling daughter went to her recital early to practice her duet with a friend. When I walked in carrying my small denim yarn tote, she said "MOTHER!" Well.... I had to stay awake somehow, right, I reasoned? I did sit in the back. I didn't pull it out until the recital started. I kept it low in my lap. I put it away before the finale (which, by the way, was my daughters duet ). Isn't that being a good mother? The only problem? My cable hook end kept hitting the bench, which made my daughter and her friends giggle. Hey, I'm forgiven!

Unfortunately our loved ones don't believe we can still "hear" while crocheting or knitting. What is that all about? LOL

Just have to say that I actually like the camo yarn. I've bought it in several different colors and made winter hats--they sold like crazy! Wish I had the nerve to take my crochet into the "forbidden" places. Sometimes I wish I could take it to church with me (it's hard to sit and hold still--even as an adult) and I listen just as well when my hands are busy.

Good for you!!! I take it wherever I think I can get away with taking it. I have ziplock bags with thread and beads and stuff in the car in case I get an opportunity that wasn't planned..lol!!!

Debi, I was knitting a sock at a wedding reception, waiting in the line for refreshments. My cousin asked if I just couldn't stand to not be doing something. I told her, no I really have to finish this sock! She understood that. Kudos for crocheting in public. I don't think people mind, they are curious, and afraid to ask what you are doing. I never go anywhere without a project. My friends expect it, and I go nutso without something to keep my hands busy.
